| Saving Paper Wasting Paper To all the children, teachers and helpers. Did you know? Nearly 4 billion trees are cut down every year to make paper and that 300 million tons of paper is consumed each year by the world. This amount is 400% more than the number of trees that were cut down 40 years ago! This is an astounding number, which of course, takes its environmental toll. In School We make 191,000 black copies a year plus 34,000 colour copies. Each computer toner costs £55. Each printer has 4 toners. We have two printers and each toner last about a term. Which means the total cost of printing is £4,300.The total cost for the school photocopier, paper and printing is £8,600 per year. Therefore, we would really appreciate it if you, the children and adults in school, would reuse and recycle your paper. It would be a great help to us and the environment since we could use the money we save to buy important things for our school. What you can do to help? The best way to counteract this problem is to recycle more! All we ask you to do is turn your paper over and use the other side or if the paper can be used again, don’t throw it away use it as scrap paper. Receive your newsletter by email.
